Stepparents and stepchildren

The relationship between ones mother and father are so nourished and not forced. The parents who have a child normally decide that it is what would be best for them as a family. However in some cases it doesnt always end happily. Some parents rush into things and dont think about the consequences. Like divorce which splits up the children. Plus those poor children have to learn how to deal with there true parents getting remarried.

In ficton it seems that this would be the best way for a childs life to be because there new step parents would get them anything they want, so when children are young they often wish for this to happen to them. The step parents most of the time dont know how to handle the child, thats why they just want to keep them happy. Plus they want there approval for when there parents ask them what they think about there new beloved. Yet in real life, thats not always how it goes.

In real life, step parents can be disasterous. I know that being a step child is not fun at all. My first step mom was the one that I truely loved. She made me feel like I was her child which is what every step child wants. Not to be lavished with gifts, loved. Yet when hers and my fathers child came I was jealous because I thought she was favoring Scarlet and not me. Because she would always make me do everything while Scarlet just sat on her bottom and did nothing. But once her and my father got a divorce I realized that she only made me do those things to give me a good work ethic, which I greatly appreciate. I still talk to her to this day becasue she is more like my mom then my birth mom. Me and Kim had a bond that was never broken because she treated me like her child and she treated me like I belonged there. Yet once my dad started dating again I realized how difficult it was going to be to be close to another woman the same. He started dating this woman that was a good prospected wife, yet she tried to mother a seventeen year old, I didnt like that too much because to me she didnt have the authority to do so. So my dad ended up breaking it off with her for some unknown reason. Then he started dating this woman named Barb. Well lets just say she moved in within a week and then while I was off getting my navy sister from the airport, they got married. Yet I didnt get told this til two days afterwards. Me and Barb have yet to form any relationship at all. I actually think that if i couldve choosen between Barb and the girl before her i would have choosen the girl before her.

Being a step child and having a step parent is very difficult. They have to form this bond where each individual knows there boundaries. With my ex-step mom we formed a great bond because she was with me since childhood and i became a lot like her. Yet my new step mom and I have to from a relationship so we dont get on each others nerves. The step children need to realize that there true parent is not going to pay as much attention to them. And that they need to try to get along with there step parents. The problem that most of them have is because they have to have an open mind to new things. They need to be able to get over the fact that there loved ones were broken up because of this new person and realize that there was a reason why it happened. But this is the hardest thing. Being in this situation before I know that it is hard to over look your feelings and look towards your parents and ther happiness.

The best thing about having step parents is that it makes my father and my mother happy. I have been able to overcome all of my feelings towards anybody or anything that happens. Plus I am the type of person who likes to love others, so I think of it as another way I can love someone that truely needs to feel loved by me. And vice versa.

The thought of step anything tends to make people crinch. Which is how everyone feels in the first years. The relationship has to be built and they have to learn to get along. The strengths and weaknesses need to be established and a line of authority needs to be drawn. I would never wish this on anyone; its a lot of work.
